In addition, a member is expected to do business with at least 20% of the membership each month. 3. Can I be a member of the Winnipeg Business Network if I am already a member of another leads club? No. If you are a member of another leads organization, then you would not be permitted to join the Network. 4. How often do you meet? The Winnipeg Business Network meets every Wednesday at noon at Buccacino's restaurant at 155 Osborne, in the Osborne Village. The club meets weekly, year round, with the exception of the last week of the year. 5. Do I have to be there myself, or can I send an employee? The Network prefers the owner, or decision maker of each business attend the meetings 6. How can I make sure the club is right for me? Join us as a guest for a meeting and see if you like the format. There is no obligation. 7. Do you have more than one business per category? No. The Winnipeg Business Network has only one business per industry category. A business can occupy a category only if the business is doing 75% of its activity within the category. 8. What is the format of the meeting? The meeting starts right at noon on Wednesday with the service of lunch. Immediately after lunch, the President opens the meeting with any news and begins the leads portion. Each member states their name and their business, and gives any leads and business placed that a member may have had the week prior. The leads, business with, and attendance are recorded by the secretary of the club. Following the leads, a "spotlight" is presented for 5 minutes by a member. The Spotlight allows a member to give a brief "Spotlight" of their business. Following the Spotlight, a full 15 minute presentation is given by another member to the group. The meeting is closed no later than one o'clock, allowing you to carry on with the rest of your business day. 9. If I have existing business relationships, do I have to give them up to be a member? No. We respect the fact that most businesses have existing relationships in place. All the Winnipeg Business Network asks is that when the opportunity arises to do business with a member, that the member be given an opportunity to present their case for that business. 10. Are their any social events associated with the Winnipeg Business Network? Generally, we have two social events per year. An annual golf tournament in the summer, and a festive party near the end of the year. 11. What makes the Winnipeg Business Network different than any other leads club? The main differentiator is the fact that we strictly control the times of our meetings so that we are done by 1:00 p.m. This allows members to plan to be back at their office or to make an appointment right after lunch without the fear of running late. 12.
